Essential Job Responsibilities:
1.Evaluate and assess child safety with families assigned. Provide education and crisis interventions to each family as needed. Conduct intakes, assessments, and home visits of family preservation clients and their families.
2.Provide case management/education support to families and their children using appropriate referral services by the agency or among community services.
3.Make immediate decisions regarding crisis, child safety, child abuse, domestic violence, drug/alcohol use, and suicidal ideation as needed. File child abuse reports as needed in addition to monitoring the status of the report and investigation.
4.Provide supplementary services to family preservation clients and their families, which include education and training families in using appropriate skills to enhance the quality of life and reduce or eliminate child abuse.
5.Participate and supervise Multidisciplinary Case Planning Committee (MCPC) meetings, which include clients, lead agency, and DCFS.
6.Produce and Provide weekly and monthly documentation, which must include assessment of client and environment, treatment goals and progress towards goals, and client attendance and participation in services.
7.Assume other duties as assigned by Management.
8.Attends required meetings.

3.Ability to relate to people in a positive way, including agency clients, staff, community professionals, volunteers, and the general public.
4.Understanding of client confidentiality.
5.Experience providing social services to children and their families.
6.Experience conducting home visits.
7.Ability to effectively engage clients from a wide range of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
8.Must have the ability of extensive analytical, interpersonal communication skills.
9.Must possess a demonstrated ability to work effectively with highly developed planning, organization, administrative and multi-tasking skills.
10.Ability to engage clients in learning new skills, strategies, interventions, and resources.
