Required Qualifications:*Three plus years of supervisory experience in child welfare or in a related field.
*Knowledge of human behavior, adolescent development, educational systems, including post-secondary educational processes, and employment resources and markets.
*Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
*Ability to supervise to promote youth and program goals.
*Ability and willingness to travel to agency sites.
Responsibilities Include:
*Supervise Coordinators for Youth Development, Mentor & Volunteer Services from FFC and Residential Programs to promote goals of MercyFirst Strategic Plan and ACS Preparing Youth for Adulthood initiative.
*Supervise Coordinators for Youth Development, Mentor & Volunteer Services from FFC and Residential Programs to ensure compliance with OCFS Youth Development and ACS PYA standards and accordingly to be well-prepared for audits.
*Oversee the agency-wide Volunteer & Mentoring Programs and explore development of a cross-age peer mentoring program.
*Plan and facilitate annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinners in Brooklyn and Syosset.
*Coordinate the agency-wide Social Work Intern Program.
*Participate on the agency-wide Youth Development Committee and on the FFC and Residential Management Teams.
*Serve as agency representative on the ACS Youth Development Consortium Committee, the ACS PYA Workgroup, the ACS Education and Employment Committees.
*Serve as agency liaison to outside organizations with whom the agency collaborates to promote PYA goals, including but not limited to You Gotta Believe, COAC, CTWOCAT, Long Island Youth Mentoring, NYC DOE, New Yorkers for Children, the Door, FEGS, and DYCD.
