Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable): Two years of college and at least two years experience working with a developmentally disabled client population. Sensitivity and ability to understand behaviors and provide positive supports.
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the training counselor has the responsibility for providing habilitation services for adults with developmental and other disabilities. The training counselor implements training programs designed to increase client's pre-vocational, self-help, personal care, fine and gross motor, communication, community orientation, perceptual/cognitive and social skills. Maintains accurate attendance, production, training and progrss reports on assigned clients.
