MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

•        Flexibility to work evenings and weekdays as needed for interviews, training and special events
•        Masters Degree in Social Work or related field, strongly preferred.
•        Experience providing services to families and communities impacted by parental incarceration
•        Experience in volunteer administration
•        Excellent writing skills and attention to detail and follow-up.
•        Bilingual strongly preferred.

Job Description:
The Family Center is a not-for-profit organization providing social and legal services to families affected by parental illness, absence and loss. The Family Center has been the pioneer in the design and research of inter-disciplinary services that address the myriad of issues that challenge families. The Buddy Program Supervisor will oversee the establishment of our new mentoring program for children of incarcerated parents as well as our existing mentoring program. The Buddy Program Supervisor oversees the recruitment, screening and monitoring of up to 100 Buddy Pairs. The Buddy Program Supervisor is part of TFC’s Social Service Department and a member of the Senior Staff. The Program Supervisor reports to the Director of Social Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•        Cultivate relationships with key partner organizations, coalitions and networks
•        Develop and implement targeted recruitment campaigns for potential program participants, including mentors and mentees
•        Supervise Buddy Coordinator(s)
•        Oversee the screening, interviewing and training of all mentors
•        Oversee the screening, assessment and orientation of potential mentees and their families
•        Work with IT and Evaluation staff to collect and analyze data about program activities and outcomes
•        Organize and facilitate Mentor Discussion Groups 6 times a year
•        Maintain a caseload of 30-40 Buddy pairs.
•        Conduct outreach and home visits throughout New York City.
•        Special projects as requested.
